Unelmoiko maa minusta? on videoteos, joka koostuu kevään ja kesän 2020 aikana kuvaamastani materiaalista Haminan Metsäkylässä puutarhassa ja pellolla. Työskennellessäni olen pohtinut kirjailija ja biologi Robin Wall Kimmererin ajatusta the honourable harvest, vapaasti suomennettuna kunniallinen sadonkorjuu. Kunniallisen sadonkorjuun säännöt ovat seuraavat:
Ask permission of the ones whose lives you seek. Abide by the answer.
Pyydä lupaa niiltä, jonka elämän aiot viedä. Noudata vastausta.
Never take the first. Never take the last.
Älä koskaan ota ensimmäistä äläkä viimeistä.
Harvest in a way that minimizes harm.
Korjaa satoa tavalla, joka aiheuttaa vähiten haittaa.
Take only what you need and leave some for others.
Ota vain se mitä tarvitset ja jätä jotain muillekin.
Use everything that you take.
Käytä kaikki minkä otat.
Take only that which is given to you.
Ota vain se, mikä sinulle annetaan.
Share it, as the Earth has shared with you.
Jaa se, kuten Maa on jakanut sinulle.
Be grateful.

Will the land dream of me? is a video art piece I have put together from the material I had after documenting my work in the garden and the field during spring and summer 2020. While working I thought about Robin Wall Kimmerer's book Braiding Sweetgrass and the idea of the Honorable Harvest:

Harvest in a way that minimizes harm.
Take only what you need and leave some for others.

The video got first screening at Antares Art Center in Sippola at an outdoors exhibition Lux Sippola II in December. There the video was projected through eco printed ahimsa silk and my studio window to be experienced in the dark on wintery nights of December and January.
